Dr. Janet Olivares, Ph.D. founder and owner of Rapha Christian Counseling Center was born in Watertown, South Dakota and graduated from Castlewood High School in May 1973 and moved to California in 1974.
Through a program at Ecclesia University, Dr. Janet started her school journey and with the help of God achieved her Ph.D. (2014) and her Doctor of Divinity in Business and Administration (2016).
Dr. Janet has won several community service awards as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award for my volunteerism. For over 30 years, she has dedicated herself to serving both her community and her church, believing that giving back is essential—so long as it does not overwhelm the giver.
Dr. Janet has been married to her husband, David Olivares, 23 years. She is the proud mother of two daughters and her husband’s 3 children with many grand and great grandchildren.

I also envision several signature initiatives that could distinguish Rapha nationally:
Rapha Leadership Institute – Executive coaching and leadership development rooted in Christian values.
National Center for Trauma & Faith-Based Recovery – Research, training, and community collaboration focused on trauma-informed Christian care.
Rapha Publishing & Media – Books, Bible studies, devotionals, podcasts, videos, and online resources to extend your ministry beyond counseling sessions.
Together, these programs communicate that Rapha Christian Counseling Center is not simply a counseling office—it is a comprehensive ministry of healing, education, prevention, leadership, and community transformation.
I believe this structure will be especially compelling for grant applications, major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations because it demonstrates both immediate impact and a long-term vision for serving communities throughout California and beyond.
